Sunday, Oct 4th · 8 am–2 pm explore bird-friendly native landscapes & feeder yards on this self-guided tour. See 8-10 great examples of how to put together a Bird-friendly Yard.
Backyard Biodiversity Day will be two weeks later, Saturday October 24th at Mead Botanical Garden, and provides an opportunity to buy the plants that you learn about on the tour.
This tour is back by popular demand! All proceeds go to support Orange Audubon’s future Natural History Museum at Apopka Birding Park. Co-sponsors are the Tarflower Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society and Wild Birds Unlimited, Winter Springs.
Since it will be impossible to see all of the yards between 8 am and 2pm, you will plan your route to see the yards of most interest. You will be emailed a map and descriptions of the yards a few days before.
This year there are no physical tickets. At each location volunteers will have a roster of who has registered. Last minute registrants can bring the registration email on their phones. Note: This is a great educational opportunity for young people, possibly to use for scout badges or projects. Up to 2 youths (ages 8-16) can accompany a registered adult at no cost.
