Field Trip & Event Signup OAS events; field trip signup form: Aug. – Oct. 2026 Δ OAS opens up field trip and event sign-ups on a rolling basis. Most local area trips open up at the beginning of the month before the trip (e.g., an October 15 trip signup would open up at the beginning of September). Some overnight or long-distance trips open up earlier to give people time to sign up and make their own travel plans. If you have questions about a specific event, please contact the event lead listed under Activities. OAS events have varying costs. Some are free. Even if you are attending a free field trip, you MUST sign up in advance in order to let us know how many people plan to attend and to fill out the participant liability release form. You won’t be able to see upcoming events until you indicate whether you are a member of OAS. We know that some people like to sign up for trips with a friend or family member. You can use this form to sign up more than one person at a time, but all participants must provide emergency contact information (which could be the same person), and agree to their own participant liability release form. Mead Botanical Gardens is an excellent location in which one can bird many different habitats within a relatively small area. The presence of many neighborhoods in the surrounding areas funnels migrating songbirds into the available park habitat. We will methodically walk and bird around the park carefully listening and looking out for various species of birds. We hope to see a wide variety of species, including multiple warblers, raptors and possibly other migratory passerines like flycatchers, tanagers, and orioles. FREE but advanced registration is required and space is limited. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
